Thomas Cassell

Thomas Cassell is a bluegrass mandolinist from southwestern Virginia. He plays in Wood Box Heroes and was a founding member of Circus No. 9, and has worked as a sideman with Billy Strings, the Bryan Sutton Band, Jim Lauderdale and Nefesh Mountain. He won the 2021 National Mandolin Championship and was named the International Bluegrass Music Association's Momentum Instrumentalist of the Year in 2020.
