Redd Volkaert is a Canadian-born country and blues guitarist from Vancouver, regarded as one of the leading Telecaster players in honky-tonk and Western swing. He played lead guitar in Merle Haggard's band the Strangers beginning in 1997 and won a 2009 Grammy for Best Country Instrumental Performance. After about two decades in Austin, Texas, he now lives in Galax, Virginia, and holds a regular residency at the Floyd Country Store.
