About Denver Dead
Denver Dead tracks the music that never stopped across the Centennial State. We list every Grateful Dead tribute, cover act, and psychedelic jam show keeping the scene alive in Colorado, from Red Rocks down to the neighborhood taproom.
Colorado runs deep with this music. The Front Range supports a massive circuit all its own: Cervantes and The Other Side in Denver, the Bluebird, the Aggie up in Fort Collins, and the Mishawaka out in the Poudre Canyon. Throw in mountain venues like 10 Mile Music Hall in Frisco or Aspen's Belly Up, and you get a second full circuit stacked right on top. A working Dead act can easily play fifty dates out here without ever crossing state lines.
That leaves us with a heavy local roster. AoxomoxoA, Built To Last, Mason's Children, Shakedown Street, Deadphish Orchestra, Steely Dead, Chinaflower Suncats, Easy Jim. If you know the catalog, the names give the game away. These crews are out there playing everything from historic ballrooms to Tuesday nights at Wibby Brewing in Longmont.
A real human reviews every show before it hits the site. Dates roll in from venue schedules, band websites, and submissions from heads who actually go to the shows. Hand-curating the list takes more time, but it keeps the calendar accurate and free of junk.
Denver Dead runs on the same custom engine as Dead Is Live, filtered strictly for Colorado. It is completely free to use. Listing your band costs nothing. If you play this music, submit your dates. If you spot a busted listing, suggest a correction right on the page.
This is an independent, fan-run project. Denver Dead holds no official ties, endorsements, or licenses from the Grateful Dead or their rights holders.
